Military pay and benefits changed again in 2026. While most service members notice the base pay raise, several additional allowances and Veteran benefits also increased.

Starting January 1st, all active-duty service members received a 3.8% base pay increase under the 2026 NDAA. Beyond base pay, BAH rose by an average of 4.2%, depending on location, rank, and dependency status. Family Separation Allowance increased from $250 to $300 per month, and Dislocation Allowance reimbursements rose by 3.8%, helping offset PCS costs.

BAS increased to reflect higher food costs, while CONUS COLA continues to support service members stationed in high-cost areas such as parts of California, New York, and Massachusetts.

VA Disability Compensation rose by 2.7%, while Dependency and Indemnity Compensation increased by 2.8%. Special Monthly Compensation rates also adjusted upward, providing additional support for Veterans with service-connected disabilities.

Because many of these updates occur automatically, it’s essential to review your LES, confirm dependency information, and verify eligibility for allowances.
